The 7-inch (18 cm) midbass drive unit used in the LAT-2000 features multifaceted cone construction and proprietary suspension. The extra square-inch area provided by the 7" cone ensures extraordinary bass reproduction. At the same time, the unique, multifaceted cone construction dampens harmful resonance for extraordinary midrange accuracy.
A 1-inch (25 mm) tweeter delivers flat response to 50 kHz. A central waveguide optimizes dispersion characteristics, while a low compression, multi-chamber design greatly reduces resonance. A powerful neodymium motor enhances upper frequency response.
2-Way Monitor Loudspeakers
The LAT-2000 packs pin-point imaging and ultra-wide dynamics in a 2-way design that meets the demands of both the most discerning listener and exotic home theater enthusiast. Choose the LAT-2000 whenever space is at premium, but the utmost in sonic purity and power handling is demanded. Voiced for use with the LAT-1000 and LAT-C1000 loudspeakers, the LAT-2000 couples enhanced high frequency response with dynamic range capabilities that belie its small size.
A vented cabinet features two rear bass ports precisely dimensioned and positioned with respect to the woofer to eliminate turbulence. The port tubes are precision machined to tolerances that cannot be achieved with commonly used paper and plastic ports.
All crossover circuitry utilizes 1/8-inch thick glass epoxy circuit boards with 4 oz. copper traces, ensuring low microphonics, low resistance, low inductance, and high current handling. Network inductors are all air-core pure copper designs. Individually potted polypropylene WIMA capacitors are used in parallel to minimize inductance and resistance, and improve current handling.
